Give Love on Christmas Day (Chapter 1)

The story of Lilet started when she had her 18th birthday. Her debut was not that fabulous but still she was happy because she was able to celebrate it. Lilet’s friends were joking around when she was called by the M.C.

“ Hey, Ms. Debutant! Happy 18th birthday! Why won’t you blow your candle now? “ said the impatient M.C.
“ Okay, okay. I’m coming. Just wait. “ said Lilet. Lilet was fixing herself to be presentable in front of her guests.
“ Will you move faster Lilet? 'Cause we're so excited to have a taste of your cake. Or we'll just wait here until Christmas comes. “
“ Excuse me? What do think of me? Turtle? “
“ Oh, sorry! I'm just joking Lilet. Okay people, let’s sing a happy birthday song to the debutant. “ After the M.C. had uttered those words, the crowd harmoniously sang the birthday song.
Lilet's friends greeted her,“ Happy Birthday Lilet! “

Lilet then sliced her birthday cake after blowing the candles. And later on, the whole guests had tasted the yummy birthday cake.

Meanwhile, in their house, Mr. & Mrs. Dizon were fighting. Mrs. Mylene questioned her husband's  fragrance because it smelled like perfume of a girl.

“ Where have you been?! Why do you smell like a girl?! “
“ Still you won’t believe me. I know that even if I’ll tell you the truth, you wouldn’t believe me. So what’s the use of arguing if you only believe in your principles?! “ said Mr. Dizon in teary eyes.
Mrs. Mylene got more irritated this time because of the principle thing that Mr. Roldan stated. The face of Mrs. Mylene became red and she spoke angrily, “ Principles? Or you just want to cover up your lies?! Well, I’m not convinced with your act Mr. “

Mr. Dizon wants to answer but it was stopped because Doña Raquel, the mother of Mrs. Dizon, came by to see what's the commotion all about.

” Stop it! Don't you have a little debt of gratitude left in yourselves? If yes, you two don’t have to argue now! It’s your daughter’s birthday. Have some respect on it. So please don’t make anything that could ruin this party. ”

Doña Raquel walked away and went to her granddaughter. After awhile, Mr. and Mrs. Dizon were silent. In their backyard, where Lilet’s debut was held, became silent because the party was over and the guests had already gone home. Then Lilet entered the house.

Lilet was in the living room to take a rest. When she was about to take her rest, something caught her attention, the brown envelope. The brown envelope was new to her because she didn't get a glimpse of it before. To her curiosity, she read what’s inside the envelope and suddenly, she burst with tears. Mrs. Dizon heard the cry of her daughter and rushed to the living room to see if something's wrong.

What’s the problem, Lilet? “, her mother calmly asked.
“What do you mean what’s the problem, Mom?! You and Tito Roldan have that!
What’s the meaning of these legal separation papers here?” Lilet shouted while crying.

Mrs. Dizon attempted to answer the question of her daughter but Lilet hurriedly went to her bedroom and locked herself already. She cried and cried the whole night. And then, Mrs. Dizon followed Lilet to her room but she can’t get inside it.

“ Don’t get in! What were you thinking?! It’s even my birthday! “ Lilet spoke angrily.
“ But Lilet, you don’t know what happened. So you better open up this door and … “ Mrs. Dizon explained.
“ And what?! You will explain to me AGAIN?! I don’t need you and your explanations now. So just PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE! “ Lilet spoke her heart out.

Mrs. Dizon thought that it was still hopeless to open the door with the duplicate because Lilet was still in rage. And she also thought about her daughter's side, although Lilet is mature enough to listen to family problems but she is still undergoing some adjustments. Mrs. Dizon has nothing left to do but leave Lilet alone.

After knowing that her mother left, Lilet faced the mirror and began asking herself while crying.

“What kind of life is this? Mom always changes her mind and decisions. Me, I think I already have all I want. But there’s something's missing. Why is it like this? “

Then, Lilet cried and cried in front of the mirror. After some time, when she was already out of tears, she looked at her alarm clock and noticed that it was passed 11 o’clock in the evening. She then put her pajamas on, prayed to God and slept with a puzzling mind.
