Busy. A word that describes the schedule of Lilet's class today. Lilet still has not recovered from what had happened last night. Today, she forced herself to wake up early but she can't just do it. The result, she woke up 5:45 am.
"Holy Cow!" Lilet exlaimed after seeing her alarm clock that did not wake her.
She then hurriedly went to the bathroom with his bath towel. She always consumes 30 minutes in taking a bath, so she is trying hard to move faster so that she won't be late for today's school.
The first day of class started again like the other mothers, Mrs. Mylene is preparing food for her daughter, Lilet while Lilet is taking a bath.
Let! It’s passed 6 o’clock already! Can you move a little faster? ”
“Yes mom!” a voice from the bathroom.
This is an everyday scene when Lilet goes to school. Because girls take a bath longer than boys does. That’s why Mrs. Mylene understands her daughter.
Earlier today, Mr. Dizon woke up early and ate his breakfast because he is going back to their province. He then thought that he was useless in this house now because he was now an ex-husband of Mrs. Mylene. Besides he had already signed the legal separation papers and the only thing lacking is the court’s blessing.
After Lilet had eaten her breakfast, she asked for her “ baon “ and hurriedly went out to go to school.
Doña Raquel just woke up from a beautiful dream. She went out of her room to check what's happening.
“ What happened to that girl? “ Doña Raquel questioned while pointing her lips to Lilet.
“ She’s almost late. That’s why she’s in a hurry. “ said Mrs.Mylene.
Good thing, when Lilet arrived at her school she wasn't late yet. It was 5 minutes before 7:00 o'clock when she got there. Then minutes later, their professor has arrived and went inside their room to officially start the class. Hours passed, they changed professors and the classroom's atmosphere became serious. The seriousness of the class caused them not to hear the ring of the bell. That atmosphere slowly faded when the professor bid goodbye to his students and intructed the class to take their recess.
It’s already recess time when Lilet, together with her friends were taking their snacks in a bench near the canteen.
“ Hey Lilet, the food in your birthday were super delicious.” said Harlie – the gay.
“ It’s nothing. Aunt Bebeng cooks very well. “
“ Oh, I almost forgot. How will the single girl here celebrate the coming Christmas? “ said Judy. “ Are there beaux? “
“ Heey!… But there is. There is someone who keeps sending emails on me. “ said Lilet while blushing.
“ You know the guy? “
“ Nope. “
They were still talking when the bell rang, meaning their class is about start. After they heard the bell, they hurriedly ran back to their classroom. The class started right away when they arrived.
Hours passed, their class ended and it’s time for the students to go home. In the case of Lilet and company, they’ll just spend some time in making their assignments in their study hall. While Lilet’s friends were at the study hall, Lilet went to the cafeteria and bought some food.
“ How much is this? “
“ Php 20. “
“ I’ll buy two. “ said Lilet while giving her Php 50 to the lady.
The lady gave her the change after she paid. Unexpectedly, there’s a pair of hand that covered Lilet’s eyes.
“ Harlie, stop that! I know you just want this V-Cut. “ Lilet guessed.
The person who covered Lilet’s eyes didn’t spoke a single word. She thought that she guessed wrongly because the person didn't react.
“ Judy, please. “
Still there’s no reaction given by the mysterious person.
“ Okay, I surrender. Who are you? “ said Lilet.
“ Guess who. “ said the person.
Lilet, somehow just connected the dots and remembered someone upon hearing that baritone voice. She remembered someone from her colorful past life. And, Bingo! She thought that her guess was right.
“ Loven? “
“ Correct! And you win 1 million pesos! “
Loven removed his hands that covered Lilet’s eyes. Lilet was amazed on what she saw. Loven was once a thin kid and is prone to diseases.
“ You’re not thin anymore. “
“ Don’t make me remember that, okay? “ said Loven with a big smile on his face.
"Copy that, Roger!" They both laughed. Lilet then introduced Loven to her friends. And they had a good time talking by then. After some time, Lilet and her friends decided to go home because they had finished working their schoolworks.
Loven, on the other hand, asked Lilet if it's okay to go with her to say hello to Mrs. Mylene. And Lilet answered,"That would be great!"
While they are riding, they haven't talked so much because their is still a little feeling of awkwardness left within them.
The house where Lilet lived is situated in the suburb of the Quezon City. With a 20 minutes drive off from their school. It was not so astonishing like some of the houses that surround it but it can be described as a simple yet elegant Japanese-themed contemporary house. Together with Loven, Lilet went inside the house. When they reached Lilet’s front door, Mrs. Mylene was shocked seeing Loven so healthy and so handsome.
“Wow! Loven, is that you? “ said Mrs. Mylene.
“Well, yeah. It’s me tita. How are you? “
“Before I answer your question, please come inside and have some snacks. And as much as I wanted to ask you so many things“
"Shoot all of them tita, when I'm ready." He chuckled.
Mrs. Mylene, Loven and Lilet went inside the house and they talk endlessly. Almost whole afternoon they chatted about what happened of each other’s life when they parted ways ages ago. The sun shines brightly the whole afternoon and they didn’t noticed that the sun’s face was slowly eaten by darkness. And then, the night came, Loven stared his watch and had seen that it was 6:50 in the evening. Then, he bid goodbye to Mrs. Mylene and promised to visit some other time in the future.
“ Oh, it’s getting dark. I need to go tita. I’m sure my parents are looking for me now. “ said Loven.
“ Oh sure, Loven. But promise to visit here some other time. “ said Mrs. Mylene.
“ Yes tita, I promise. Lilet I have to go. See you. “
“ Okay. Take care. “ said Lilet.
“ Send my regards to your parents, Loven! “ shouted Mrs. Mylene.
"Sure tita!" Loven said while slowly vanishing from the streets of their suburb.
The nights past and the days come. Loven and Lilet became so close to each other every single day they see each other in school. They’re like love birds that hum the same thoughts. They talk a lot about their life’s hidden secrets and other nonsense things. They go to the canteen together and share same foods. They’re inseparable just like the old times.
Loven always go to Lilet’s house after class. They talk. They surf the net together. They do their assignments together. One time, they had a serious conversation. It happened when they went to the cafeteria to have some snacks.
“Lilet, did you ever had a boyfriend? “ asked Loven.
“What kind of question is that? “ asked Lilet while giggling.
“Just answer my question. “ The face of Loven became serious.
Lilet paused awhile and uttered, “The truth is, I didn’t have a boyfriend. Why’d you ask? “
Loven didn’t answer Lilet. Then, Loven changed the topic.
Lilet was very curious why Loven asked that kind of question. In fact, Lilet had a crush on Loven since they were kids, and until now. But Lilet thinks negatively that it is impossible for Loven to like her because Loven is too handsome now and she know that Loven likes pretty girls. She don’t want to disappoint herself so she didn’t expected too much. They continued to be friends after that conversation. They still spend a lot of time together.
